We commit to value generation to our stakeholders through a dynamic process to maximise long term expectations of our stakeholders. As such, SUNMEH will continue to assess opportunities by ensuring that mining operations are efficient and that the resources being extracted are used wisely. This includes long-term planning for resource use, considering future resource requirements.
To create sustainable value depends on our ability to create value for others. We seek to balance the interests and expectations of our stakeholders with those of the company in a dynamic and manner to ensure the sustainability of our operations.
Environment and Climate Change
Climate change is a primary challenge facing all economic sectors and has significant impact people and the environment. SUNMEH commits towards reducing its carbon footprints by working with key players in the mining industry and regulatory authorities to build achievable pathways to reduce emissions across all its operations though the use of new technologies that are scalable and viable.
SUNMEH is developing an Emissions Reduction and Energy Development Plan, this will describe the approach to enhance our position as an industry leader in emissions reductions, clean technology and innovation, and sustainable resource development.
Corporate Governance
SUNMEH is committed to strong corporate governance practices to the long-term success of our company. To minimize the environmental, social, and economic impacts of mining while ensuring the long-term viability of the industry, the management and Board of the company play a key role by setting the strategic objective, implement and examine performance, to ensure the company complies with laws and regulations.
Furthermore, SUNMEH will work with host communities on reclamation and land restoration after extraction. The company will ensure the responsible restoration of mined land or repurposing it for alternative uses and ensure the rehabilitation of the ecosystems for the benefit of the local communities.
